Amitabh to receive his fourth doctorate

Amitabh Bachchan, who had turned down an honorary doctorate from an Australian university two years back as a mark of protest against racial attacks on Indian students, has finally decided to accept it.

The Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane has  offered the 69-year-old veteran his fourth doctorate for his contribution to the world of entertainment. "The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) honors me with a Doctorate on the 20th of October in Brisbane... deep gratitude," tweeted Bachchan from Sydney where he is shooting his first Hollywood film 'The Great Gatsby'.

"Yes after I finish the shoot for 'The Great Gatsby',  over to Brisbane for the Honorary Doctorate from the Queensland University," he added. Bachchan has already received three honorary doctorates. "Doctorate given at De Montfort Univ, Leicester UK, Jhansi Univ, Delhi Univ, and now at QUT, Brisbane... honoured and so humbled!"

"Many asking if I shall now be called 'Doctor' or 'Dr' this is my 4th one...!! Been a while!!" But the actor said he never uses the title because he feels his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan was the right person to use it.

"No never want to use Dr as title for me. There is only  one Dr Bachchan, and that is my father. Did his PhD from Cambridge University," he added.
