Anil Kapoor's father is no more

Surinder Kapoor, father of Anil, Boney and Sanjay Kapoor, passed away following a massive heart attack. A prayer meeting in his memory will take place today .

Kapoor was well known as a filmmaker to reckon with in the '70s and '80s. He produced films like Ponga Pandit (1975), Hum Paanch (1980) and Woh Saat Din (1983). His last film as a producer was No Entry in 2005, along with his son Anil Kapoor. He was also a keen hockey buff.

Kapoor was also the president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India from 1995 to 2001.

He started his film career as a secretary to film actress Gita Bali and then went on to become an assistant director with the film Mughal e Azam. Kapoor was 88.

His death comes close on the heels of a series of deaths related to the Hindi film industry, the latest being that of ace photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha.

Anil wishes Freida Pinto for her next film!!

Actor Anil Kapoor who superbly bonded with the cast of Oscar nominated SlumDog Millionaire has nothing but good wishes and expectations from Freida Pinto's much acclaimed visual effects extravaganza, Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
The actor who won the admiration of his Hollywood team and led the forefront at the film's Oscar success in Hollywood is reportedly very good friends with Freida Pinto and is keen to see her in the  recently released Apes reboot, which also stars James Franco.
Says Anil, "I'm so happy to see Freida's career go from strength to strength. She has worked with some of Hollywood's best directors in roles that were truly challenging. In doing so she has effortlessly and gracefully made her mark in Hollywood. There has been a lot of anticipation from her film Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I wish her all the very best and look forward to watching the film!"
Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has been welcomed by critics and fans from all over the world, looks like Anil's good wishes are working!
