Deepika opts out of 'Race 2'

Actress Deepika Padukone has made a sudden exit from Abbas-Mustan's much awaited thriller 'Race 2', leaving the filmmakers miffed with her alleged unprofessional behaviour. The action thriller film 'Race 2' produced under the Tips Films banner, is the sequel to the 2008 hit film, 'Race', with the ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.

After having completed a week of shooting, Deepika backed out at the last minute from the sequel, which has left producer Ramesh Taurani upset. "I have been a part of the Hindi cinema industry for 25 years. I have made several blockbusters. But I have never faced a situation like this before. Our directors and the other actors are extremely annoyed with her (Deepika)," Taurani said in a statement.

"Tips as a company in its last 25 years has never had a dispute with anyone in this industry, there is no single case in the association which involves us, it will be very sad and uncalled for if matters go to that level," he said. The producer is even more upset with the fact that he was among the last of know of her decision.

I am very fond of Akshay Kumar: Deepika

Deepika Padukone romanced Akshaky  Kumar in 'Housefull' and 'Chandni Chowk...' but in their upcoming film 'Desi Boyz' the duo share a love-hate relationship, which the actress says was difficult considering her fondness for the actor.

Deepika is paired with John Abhraham while Akshay will be seen romancing Chitrangda Singh in the movie, which hits theatres this week. The film marks the debut of Rohit Dhawan, the song of filmmaker David Dhawan.

"It was tough for me to play a part where I don't like Akshay. I am extremely fond of Akshay. I have done my first few films with him and this is my third film. To be so  comfortable with him in real life and then pretend not to like him in front of the camera is very difficult but as actors we  have to step into the world of make-belief," Deepika told PTI.

The actress, however, is excited to do something which is   not expected.

'Aarakshan' my most complicated role: Saif

Saif Ali Khan says playing a Dalit teacher in Prakash Jha's upcoming film 'Aarakshan' has been his most difficult role so far.

The actor, who has an image of the sophisticated urban hero, is seen speaking in chaste Hindi in the movie, which also stars veteran Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prateik and Manoj Bajpai.
And it was not an easy task for the actor, who struggles with Hindi in real life, to speak the language fluently, especially in front of Bachchan, who is famous for his command on the language.
"I am really happy to work in this movie and I thank Prakashji for giving me the most difficult and complicated role of my career. I have worked hard to understand and play this character," Saif, who was in the city to promote the film, told reporters.
The 40-year-old actor said that despite having reservation as the backdrop, the film talks about human relationships and how issues like this affect individuals.
"I think it is a very dramatic movie. When I was offered the role, my mother told me 'Go practice your Hindi' and she was right. Prakashji and Amitji both speak the Sanskrit Hindi," Saif added.
'Aarakshan' releases all over on August 12.

Deepika hot on Maxim magazine

Deepika Padukone like you has never seen her before!’ So boasts the tagline on the cover of the August issue of Maxim magazine.

We grant that the muggy damsel looks decidedly sassy and opulent not just on the cover but also in the photoshoot. Deepika show offs her twisting curvature in skin-hugging short dresses, corset top, nifty gown and a combo where she teams up a red jacket with a skimpy top and knickers.

The lady just burnes the pages of the mag and we won’t be astonished if Ranbir Kapoor is found drenched his hands with be sorry after watching Deepika’s stills from Maxim.

Deepika Padukone treasury her love triangle

Deepika Padukone, who plays upper caste student Poorbi Anand and the headmaster's daughter in Aarakshan, is spoilt for choice in the reservation drama.
She has to either pick love with Saif's character Deepak Kumar, a Dalit PhD student or security with Prateik's Sushant, a rich upper-caste fellow student?
Off-screen, however, there was no such drama and the three were virtually inseparable. So, while Jha and Bachchan Sr would be engrossed in serious conversation most of the time, the three actors would always lighten the mood. They not only bonded on set but became thick friends off set as well. Apart from getting to know each other better, they also revealed their common interests and hobbies.
While the three are already buddies, it remains to be seen who will 'attract' her love in the film
