Riteish, Genelia wed

Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza tied the knot today in traditional Marathi
style at a five-star hotel here in the presence of leading figures from Bollywood and the world of politics.

Riteish, wearing a white sherwani and red 'feta' (turban), entered the hotel on a 'ghodi'. The 'baaraat'
started from the grounds near Grand Hyatt and reached the hotel. The actor's politician father Vilasrao Deshmukh was dressed in a brown sherwani.

Among those present were Sharad Pawar, Prithviraj Chavan, Praful Patel, Abhishek Bachchan, Kajol and Ajay Devgn. Riteish (32) and Genelia (24) had been seeing each other since their Bollywood debut 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003.

In a run-up to the main ceremony, a pre-wedding bash was organised by actor Fardeen Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala on January 25 followed by a sangeet ceremony at Taj Lands End hotel in suburban Bandra on January 31.

Besides preparing for the big day, Riteish and Genelia had also been busy promoting their forthcoming film 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' that will hit theatres on February 24.

"Kareena was innocent as Geet"

Genelia who will soon tie the knot with Ritesh Deshmukh converse about her upcoming flick “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya”, as her character is similar to Geet (Kareena Kapoor) of “Jab We Met”.

Kareen Kapoor’s portrayal of a slapdash, chulbuli Geet in JAB WE MET has made a special mark in people's hearts and it will be remembered for years to come. So any actress who even relatively tries to play a character on those lines, comparisons are bound to happen.

Genelia D'Souza's bindass & bubbly character in upcoming film TereNaal Love Ho Gayaa is being widely compared with Kareena's character in JAB WE MET.

However, Genelia asserts the two characters are as different as chalk and cheese. There's hardly any similarity between the two.

Genelia claims Kareena was very innocent as Geet, who did things out of her innocence, while mini (Genelia) is adventurous and brat and do unusual things knowing the consequences.

Riteish completes me: Genelia

Real life couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza who are readying to tie the knot in February, had mutually decided to keep their relationship under wraps and feel that they complete each other.

"Yes, we both did not open up about the relation. We were clear the relation needs some dignity... how you guard your family and every one at home and that is the way we have guarded it. We have been there since then, it is very important that you don't talk about the relationship when you start off as you don't know whether it will last or not," Genelia said in an interview.

"Thankfully we have grown up. Like we were earlier just friends...slowly became better friends, we started growing career wise and other ways. We never lost our friendship. And then on the way you start realising that you complete each other. I feel everybody has an incomplete part and there is someone one else who completes you...on the way we felt this was right," she said.

Riteish (32) and Genelia (24) have been seeing each other since their Bollywood debut, 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003. The couple will seal their relationship on February 3. "Its an exciting new chapter in our lives. The good part is there is no nervousness on both sides but excitement. Its been a busy month, like I have never been. The preparations are on...family is looking into it," Genelia said.

The couple, who starred together in films like 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' and 'Masti', will be next seen in 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' which is expected to hit theatres on February 24.
