Mega star Amitabh Bachchan became nostalgic after a visit to the Filmistan Studio with wife Jaya Bachchan for a shoot.
The 68-year-old actor, who started his career with the studio after facing several rejections from the industry, said the studio visit reminded him of his days of struggle.
"It is Filmistan Studio and it is the place where I attempted to enter on many an occasion to seek a job and would get turned out by the gate keeper on arrival," Bachchan wrote on his blog. The studio was founded 1943 by producer Shashadhar Mukherjee and produced a number of successful hit movies like 'Shaheed', 'Jagriti', 'Paying Guest' and many more.
Bachchan said he was amazed to see how the place has conserved its old world charm. "The place and its environs have not changed at all. A few cosmetic changes have occurred, but the structures and the ambiance have remained the same.
In particular the semi open aired canteen which made the most delicious sugar on toasts, the only meal we could afford and the only place where we would get space to rest our struggle worn body," the 68-year-old actor said.
Apart from his struggles, he also reminisced the hits he delivered from the studio. "But this is too the studio of 'Nasseb', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' and 'Black' and millions of other glorious moments," Bachchan wrote.
