Court refutes Azaan's release,hearing deferred

While the film 'Azaan' is scheduled to be released on October 14,a city based NGO moved to court against the Censor Board of Film Certification to restrain use of the title, contending that it can hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims. Sessions Judge refused to grant a stay on the film and adjourned the further hearing till November 15.

Mr Raman,on behalf of the NGO, complained that the word “azaan”  is a holy and sacred word, which has been used in the film 'Azaan'.The movie is terrorist based story, but it has been categorised as an 'A' grade movie.

On the other hand the producer of the movie argued that no objection was raised when the poster of the film was published in the month of January but the same was raised at the time when movie is scheduled to be released.
